  1. I've noticed a lot of spam threads, most of them originating from one profile. I have deleted the threads and suspended the profile. The spam messages contained a lot of links and clearly computer-generated text. My apologies for any inconveniences caused by the spam. If new spam appears, please let me or other moderators know by pm.
  2. I've sent this on to the game staff, the developers will look into it
  3. I have passed your post to the devs, Lion II will be buffed. Thanks! Edit: the buff will be an aaw increase.
  4. Dear Diddy, How often have I told you to watch your language. If you have any difficulties with actions from the staff, you can file a complaint with support or Vinnson. We do not tolerate such language as you used here, and certainly not against fellow moderators. This thread is hereby closed, and I will apply an official warning. Please try and be a bit more respectful. Thanks.
  5. Here's an example of the differences between tiers. The affected stats will vary between ships, and could be anything from upgraded sight range and UK grade armour capabilities to extra turrets, AAW, added flightdecks or added launchers. This means that a B grade Surcouf will have different upgrades from a B grade Type-XXI, but all B grade Surcoufs will be the same. Oh, and did you know that some ships can now get a (weak) sonar with 3rd FCS upgrade?
  6. Hello windeye, 1. Scrap cost is the same for every time you do research, namely 20. You can add steel, oil and gold to have a chance of researching higher grade ships. 2. The different tiers offer different increases in stats. I'll post a few pictures of a ship I have in three different tiers for context. 3. You can set an amount of resources that you want to spend on research (0-300k steel, 0-30k oil, 0-500 gold). The more resources you invest, the higher the chance of a higher tier ship being researched. Tiers B, A and S require an investment of gold. HOWEVER, the outcome of research is lottery-based, so spending more is not a guarantee of getting a certain tier ship. 4. You cannot exchange scrap for other resources. You can buy more scrap using gold. Alternatively, selling unwanted blueprints also returns an amount of scrap. Cheers!
  7. The patch will be released next wednesday (september 26th)
  8. Good question! All researchable ships will have lvl 1 requirement, but research will be available from lvl 25.
  9. Ships cannot be upgraded to different tiers. As far as the levels go, all researchable ships are lvl 1. So a Charlemagne is totally a lvl 1 ship If my assumptions are correct this research system will bring a lot of variety in ships to the game. Oh, and did I mention that some of the new ships are absolutely epic? Like, really epic? I really would like to be able to carry them over from the test server
  10. Thanks Ethor! I'll add a few pre-answered questions if I may: As you can see, the game mechanics will change quite a bit. I suggest you start hoarding your resources, because although the research can give you some absolutely epic ships, it can also be quite expensive. Also, just to be clear: the five existing nations will continue on existing. Research is limited by the nation the research is done in insofar as only the English can research the different grades of the Lion I. Lastly, special grades of steel ships still cost steel to build. Special versions of premium ships require gold to build. From what I've seen the prices are identical. So basically, the game will still be centered around the existing 5 nations, which allows players to have 5 different captains. The Italian and French ships are available to everyone, independent of nation, and they can be obtained by researching blueprints. I wish everyone a lot of fun with the new game (it's quite an overhaul really), I'm personally very stoked for the update!
  11. Good to hear! Enjoy your game, I'll close this thread now.
  12. We are currently awaiting the test version, but I have no ETA yet. The update will include new ships. Edit: release date is set for next Wednesday!
  13. This issue has been fixed, thread closed.
  14. I use 3 main gun, 3 planes and 2 flightdeck on my 1944, thus operating it as an auxilary cv with the firepower to fend off smaller ships. Works like a charm, but as said it's no match for an experienced cv. It should't be, either. Its role is different from a cv and different from a normal ca as well. There should be compromises, and I think the current 1944 is a great balance between ca and cv. For a quick comparison: if the 1944 should be able to beat both a normal ca41 and a cv at their own game, isn't that the same as saying the Kaiser needs 2500 damage and the Victoria needs 3000 range?
  15. As Baldrick stated, every ship has a distinct role in the game that should be observed. You shouldn't expect to beat a battleship in a CL (although it can be done, if you're lucky). Likewise, you shouldn't expect to beat a skilled dd player in a ss or even cv. As far as the QV is concerned, it's massively powerful and requires strong team work to take down, but so do all 100+ ships. If three big bb's gang up on my Vic there's a good chance that I'll be fishfood before I sink even one of them. The only downside to all this is that it needs every ship in a game to be piloted by a skilled captain. Bots are usually easily slaughtered, accounting for the many 8 vs 1 games. As far as the higher level cl's and ca's are concerned: I'd say they would be a good addition, but they should not make the lower level battleships obsolete. A poor lvl 50/60 player has enough of a challenge fending off the regular 41's. Here were some thoughts, enjoy
  16. Are you certain that you run the latest version of the app? This bug has been fixed some time ago. I checked on my account and the tab works just fine.
  17. Support team has been notified and should be working on it. If you are locked out of your account it's better to send an email to naiadgames@gmail.com, the mail is checked more often than the forums, I think. Also, to prevent the email from getting lost in the archives, it can be a good idea to inform a moderator so they can check whether support has received and read the email! I hope your account gets restored soon. Cheers mates!
  18. Dear NF captains, Lately I've been encountering a LOT of captains with inappropiate names. Please note that I will come down on those captains. Offending captains will be warned, if they don't chance the offending name they will be submitted for suspension. Don't be one of those captains! What exactly is an inappropiate name, you may ask? To prevent any discussion, here's some clear rules on naming: - Any reference to terrorists, war crimimals (including Nazi's) or criminal organisations is not allowed. - Any reference to people or organisations who have committed crimes against humanity is not allowed. - Offensive language in names is not allowed. - Spam in names is not allowed. - Insulting of other players in names is not allowed. - Racism, homophobia, negative stereotyping and suchlike are not allowed. - Explicit (sexual) language is not allowed. This list may be edited by moderators, so when in doubt please refer to the latest edition. The very best option you have: if you are in doubt whether or not a name is allowed, don't use the name. Thank you all very much for your cooperation. If you see players breaking above rules, please report them in game or PM a screenshot of the player's profile to a moderator.
  19. Have you tried reïnstalling the game? (only if you saved your profile to Google or Facebook, of course)
  20. Personally I'm all for bots. As said, they get the number of ships in a game up to a level where it's fun. A 5 vs 5 is too easily dominated by one powerful ship. +1 on the 'add ss/bb/cv bots'. Btw, those dd/cl bots will give you a proper challenge if you're in a cv, this is how you deal with them
  21. I received three boxes so far today: 1. 900 cpt cxp, 10k steel, 3 crew points 2. 3 gold, 700 fuel, 7k steel 3. See below, made me a happy man
  22. I can confirm that it's about the ratio. I think the counter resets along with the biweekly score counters. How I came to this conclusion: On a friday, just after reset, I was playing my cv. I won 7 battles in a row, after each one the counter for the achievement increased by 1 (I checked). After the 7th I lost, and it;s been showing that for a while now. I suspect that if I can get an 8-win streak after next reset it will increase again.
  23. Saw this strange sight this morning. How is this possible? It is a bug or a feature? Two ships of the same player in one battle on opposite teams.
  24. I think it's time to bring this topic back from the dead. I have three bees in my bonnet about the harbour assault system, two concerning submarines. Bee number one: stage one harbour assault, situation: both defender and attacker have a submarine The problem: when I attack a player who has a submarine in his defense, my submarine will automatically and directly turn to the right side of the screen. The defending sub meanwhile goes straight on and sticks my sub full of torpedo's. My sub will have turned by then, so it takes the full load in the side. Sub dead. It can't even fire back because of this stupid manoeuvre. This needs changing. Bee number two: stage two of the assault, no sub in game Say I arrive at the harbour without my submarine. If there are any defense weapons, especially mines, I'll lose my heavy line to them. My light line gets munched by the defense guns while all fire from my ships is directed towards the torpedo boats (which are too fast to hit with auto-aim). End of the story: my fleet doesn't stand a chance. If there are any different experiences, please do share them. Bee number three: stage two, sub in game Now there are two possibilities here. One: there is no sub net in front of the garrison. My sub sails in, everything blows up, victory! Two: there is a sub net. My sub runs against it and sinks. The rest of my fleet gets sunk as described above. Defeat. Basically I can tell at first glance whether I will win or lose the second stage of HA. Sub and no net = victory, no sub or sub with nets = defeat. Now that those bees are out, my suggestion to solve the problem is as follows: in recent HA tinkering, the problem has always been the second stage. It still doesn't work properly. So, why not remove the second stage of HA altogether, and let it all be decided in the first stage? After all, defenders have nothing to lose anymore, so the function of HA is, at least in my eyes, a bit of a ship showdown which gives you extra goodies. Which I like very much, only the second stage seems pointless and needlessly frustrating. Please do share your own experiences and tips/tactics/recommendations for harbour assault.
  25. I got one when playing CV in the recent CV madness after the update. I believe it's about win/lose ratio: for the first one you have to win two battles for every one you lose, that becomes 5 and then 10 for achievements 2 and 3. Unfortunately, there is no way to see what your current ratio is, or how it's calculated (hopefully based on the same reset counter that does the online ranking, if it's counted from the birth of your account you'd have a lot of catching up to do)
